Four Courts Four Miler / 34:25
For this race, runners converged on an Irish pub called Four Courts. Pre-race it was raining like crazy and it was somewhat cool, so I decided to keep my rain gear on. I mean, this wasn’t just drizzle, it was a torrential downpour! Up until the race started that is, then it was just drizzle. Curse you rain, make up your mind!
So I overheated a bit a little later in the race, but it really didn’t hurt me until… THE ROSSLYN HILL. This hill nearly ended me. I was going to stop, drop, and roll down the hill because there was a fire that needed to be put out in my pain receptors. But I didn’t do that. I soldiered through and finished, but with a slower time then I wanted. I didn’t take part in the complimentary Guinness due to fatigue. Next year…
